State Historic Park. Step back to the early days of
San Juan. Meet mountain men, Civil War soldiers, Victorian ladies,
and more. Enjoy craft and cooking demonstrations. Enjoy an
old-fashioned soda in the historic Plaza Hotel Saloon. See historic
horse-drawn vehicles inside the Plaza Stables and Victorian
furnishings in the Plaza Hotel and Zanetta family home.

California Admission
Day
Times to be announced. At the Native Daughters Adobe building, 203
Fourth St. Cost is $10 per person and take out is available! Tri
Tip, beans, salads and desert. Hosted by the Native Daughters of
the American Golden West.
California Admission Day is a legal holiday in the state of California in the United States. It is celebrated annually on September 9 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1850 admission of California into the Union as the thirty-first state. California was admitted to the Union as part of the Compromise of 1850 as a free state after being ceded to the United States by Mexico at the end of the Mexican–American War in 1848.

San Juan Bautista Double Racing Festival
Starts Downtown. For the Double Road Race 15k you first run the 10k leg and then one hour and 45 minutes later the 5k leg starts.Times from the two legs are combined for scoring. For the Ujena Double 8k you first run the 5k leg and then one hour 45 minutes later the 3k leg starts. Bring the kids (13 and under) for the Bob Anderson's Kids Cup Double 1.5 Mile (1 mile + 1/2 mile starts 30 minutes later).
Both San Juan Bautista Doubles
will start on the historic main street and finish in front of the
Mission San Juan Bautista.
The Halftime featuring the recovery zone will be situated in the
large grassy area in front of the historic mission where Spanish
soldiers and Native Americans camped in the 1800s. Live
music will keep us entertained from 7:00am to12pm.

Bi-Annual Cactus &
Succulent Show (Saturday & Sunday)
9am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sunday, San
Juan Bautista Community Hall, 10 San Jose
St., Free Admission. The
show provides a great opportunity to get acquainted with the
wonderful world of drought resistant succulent plants. Whether you
have questions or are looking to buy unique cactus and succulents,
this event has something for everyone. The show is sponsored by the
Cactus & Succulent Society of the Monterey Bay Area and takes

Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" Day at
SJB State Historic Park!
Experience Hitcock's famous film at one of the filming locations. The Plaza History Association is hosting a Vertigo Day event with a tour, lecture, and free showing of the famous movie. Tickets are required for the tour and lecture.
Tours ~ $15 per person
Begins at 3 pm
Guided tours of Mission San Juan Bautista and the Park,
emphazing film locations and fun film facts.
The tour will last about 1.5 hours.
Lecture ~ $10 per person
Begins at 4:30 pm Plaza Saloon, Mariposa Entry
Delight in the knowledge of Luis Camara, Assoc. Professor of Creative Arts and Technology at CSU Monterey Bay, speaking on the Mastery of Hitchcock. Old fashion sodas available for purchase inside the Saloon.
Combo deal ~ Tour and Lecture $20 per person.
Movie ~ Free! Begins about 8:10 pm
Shown on the Plaza Lawn beginning at sunset. Bring your
own blankets and lawn chairs.
